• Phonics
- beginning consonant sounds; ending consonant
sounds; vowel sounds; rhyming sounds; consonant
and vowel sounds; short vowels ‘a’,
‘e’, ‘i’, ‘o’
and ‘u’.
Students learn the sounds for the letters of the
alphabet and, through a variety of activities,
are taught to recognise and use them in their
correct position in words. Students then go on
to master basic single letter-sound relationships.
They start by consolidating their knowledge of
the sounds the letters make, and then go on to
blend these sounds together to read simple three-sound
words.
• Spelling - alphabet +
32 graded word lists.
Uses narration, text and visual cues to teach
and reinforce spelling and vocabulary skills in
6 fun learning games. Narrated sentences give
students an understanding of how individual words
are used in context.
• Reading - 32 graded passages
& stories with universal appeal. The exercise
design allows students to progress at their own
rate. All results are measured, timed and recorded,
including reading speed and unfamiliar word access.
• Grammar - 17 English
grammar topics, including Calendar, Gender, Plurals,
Nouns and Verbs. Exercises are fully interactive,
with sets of 10 questions for each exercise drawn
at random. No two question sets are the same!
Students receive instant feedback and are able
to call up worked examples when needed. Unobtrusive
animation and sound adds to student enjoyment,
while any words that are unfamiliar can be listened
to, as can the instructions and comprehensive
help section.
• Maths - addition &
subtraction.
Teaching students the essential skills of addition
and subtraction, using colourful graphics, interesting
characters, subtle animation and fully narrated,
interactive tutorials. The exercises are designed
to be challenging without being intimidating or
threatening, leading to the acquisition of basic
maths skills in a way that is easily accessible
to all students.
• Thinking - decipher number
codes, unravel word problems, identify patterns,
solve sequences, & test general knowledge.
A collection of interactive brainteasers and logic
problems that will provide many hours of stimulating
thought.
